Our students Matej Hegeduš, 4TM and Nikola Labak, 3TM, participated in the International SkillMe Conference in Udine, Italy on March 14, 2025.
They participated in workshops in the field of mechatronics, accompanied by mentor teachers Tomislav Vdovjak and Bojan Borjanić. In addition to Italy, the host country, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina were also included in the conference.
The workshops for the students were divided into four categories: Mechatronics, Welding, Car Service and Wood. Our students participated in the mechatronics category where they were divided into groups with other mechatronics students from other schools. They were given a problem task that they had to solve together as a group. The task in which our students participated was the following: using a PLC, an industrial computer and the Tia Portal software tool, program a sliding door that must be open for a certain period of time and then close after a certain period of time. In addition, it was necessary to program the LED light that signals the operation of the door. Students of the same profession from all participating countries participated in one problem task, exchanging ideas and ways of solving tasks, presenting solutions and works – all in English!
In addition to providing support to the students, the mentor professors also participated in various professional lectures and also exchanged ideas and experiences with each other.
We congratulate and hope that our students have further developed their skills and knowledge from the profession, but also other skills that will help them in their further learning and work.
